Scottsdale’s eternal question of where should a new parking facility go in Old Town may at least have some answers, even if there’s no agreement yet.
Some folks want it in the northeast quadrant of Old Town while others want it in the southwest corner of town.
Scottsdale Public Works Director Dan Worth presented two possible options to the city council during its April 16 meeting that would create parking in both areas.
Still there is little council consensus on the topic.
The first option provides for parking in the southeast quadrant by adding a floor to parking garage at First Street and Brown, adding 97 new parking spots. It also provides new parking in the northeast quadrant with a two-level garage at Stetson and Sixth Avenue, creating 144 new spaces, as well as adding 57 spaces at the Artisan development at the corner of Indian School and Marshall Way in the southwest quadrant.
