Phoenix, AZ— Former Arizona Governor Fife Symington has endorsed Thomas Galvin for Maricopa County Supervisor in District 2. As the 19th Governor of Arizona, Symington championed significant individual and corporate tax reductions, boosting the local economy and fostering job growth.
“Maricopa County Supervisor Tom Galvin is a principled, fiscal conservative,” said Governor Symington. “He always puts Maricopa County’s taxpayers first while thoughtfully understanding the prime role of County government: keeping our citizens safe by investing in a robust public safety system supporting our first responders. Tom views public service as an honored trust. He leads with principle and integrity dissimilar to many who choose political expediency at the expense of making the right, tough decisions. Please join me and thousands of others of whom Tom has rightfully earned their respect and support. I strongly encourage the voters of District 2 to vote for the only candidate who is a proven, effective leader of our County: Supervisor Tom Galvin.”
“I am honored to have the support of former Governor Fife Symington,” said Galvin. “Governor Symington spent his career championing free market policies and reducing tax burdens on Arizona families. These conservative economic policies are important at all levels of government. That is why I have been a vocal advocate for the taxpayer, successfully passing the largest property tax rate cut in county history. I look forward to championing more important economic policies on behalf of Maricopa County residents.”
Governor Symington’s endorsement adds to the growing list of conservative leaders supporting Galvin which includes Governor Jan Brewer. More local conservative leaders and community organizations will be announced in the coming weeks.
In addition to reducing the tax burden on Maricopa County residents, Galvin has also partnered with Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell and Sheriff Skinner on initiatives to curb the rise of fentanyl in our communities and increase funding for public safety.
In December 2021, Thomas was appointed to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to fill the vacancy for the District 2 seat and was subsequently elected in 2022. Since taking office, he has worked across the district – from Carefree to Scottsdale to Mesa. Maricopa County is the fourth largest county in the United States with a population of over 4.5 million people. Thomas represents more than 900,000 residents as a Maricopa County Supervisor. He and his wife are raising their young son in District 2.
