Mesa P&Z gives blessing to GP

The Planning and Zoning Board and members of the public gave the once-a-decade General Plan update a warm send-off late last month, voting unanimously to recommend the plan to City Council when it considers it May 20 for the November ballot.

Several members of the public spoke in favor of the updated plan, expressing confidence that the new plan more clearly defines where controversial development like multifamily housing is acceptable. 

One community leader told the board it is a good plan if city leaders stick to it.
