Vestar to bring Sam’s Club to Tempe Marketplace

A major addition to a high-profile shopping center in Tempe could soon take the next step.

Vestar Development Co.’s plans to bring Sam’s Club to Tempe Marketplace will be considered by the city’s Development Review Commission on May 14. The commission will consider a development review plan and preliminary subdivision plat for a 154,669-square-foot warehouse and fuel station at 2080 E. Rio Salado Pkwy — the planned address for the site. The Development Review Commission will be the decision-making body for the request, according to the meeting’s agenda.
