Discount supermarket coming to Maricopa

Looks like our predictions early this year were correct.

German-owned Aldi submitted preliminary plans this week to build a grocery store in the South Bridge Shopping Center on John Wayne Parkway and Honeycutt Avenue. It will be the city’s fifth grocery store.

The discount supermarket will sit just northwest of Lowe’s Home Improvement, which is under construction.

In JanuaryInMaricopa noted developer Thompson Thrift has continuously worked with four grocery stores in the past: Sprouts Farmers Market, Aldi, Publix and Earth Fare. The developer brought Sprouts to the Sonoran Creek Marketplace in 2021.
