FLORENCE — This is the fourth in a series of articles in which the candidates for mayor respond in writing to questions from the Florence Reminder & Blade-Tribune. The primary election is July 30.
How should Florence be improving quality of life in Anthem?
Michelle Cordes: The quality of life in Anthem and Florence will elevate through enhanced infrastructure, increased retail and dining choices, expanded spaces for activities and socializing, and most importantly, bridging the gap between our communities. Despite the geographical and landscape differences, we are all part of Florence. By fostering a sense of unity and mutual respect, regardless of our location, everyone will feel welcomed and valued. This inclusive approach will significantly enhance the quality of life for all residents, regardless of their cross streets.
Keith Eaton: In a time that the division within our town is at a high, what’s needed for Anthem is needed for the historic downtown. The Anthem portion of our community was the first to heavily develop in many years; this area has turned into a thriving area with continued home construction. As in all areas of town, the additional homes will bring the commercial development to enhance the services that the residents need for their day-to-day needs. The focus on our economic development should be to keep our local dollar here in Florence as a whole.
