City of Flagstaff Council Work Session 6/11/24City discusses amendments High Occupancy Housing (HOH) Plan, a specific plan and associated amendments to the Regional Plan, hoping to have amendments by the end of 2024 to keep all the same parameters as are currently existing in code but create a more flexible environment that will allow a wider array of projects to apply for a conditional use permit. Council has recognized the prior High Occupancy Housing Plan was too restrictive, planning to increase the flexibility of where high density housing can be located within the City. Areas in which multi-family housing can be built after obtaining a CUP in the City of Flagstaff will likely be expanded by the end of 2024. 
City of Page City Council Regular Meeting 6/12/24Ordinance 731-24: Hotel and Local Transient Lodging Tax Increase Adopted. This ordinance implements the tax increase in both the hotel and local transient lodging categories to 5% on September 1, 2024. Funds from the higher tax are intended to go to the general fund and then be used to build a community pool, estimated to cost $12- 15 million. The tax is estimated to generate $1.7 million. Hotel and transient lodging taxes are going to increase to 5% for users of existing and incoming transient and lodging businesses on September 1, 2024.
