SAN TAN VALLEY — Although the committee working to form a city in San Tan Valley recently announced residents won’t get to vote until next year, the effort still has momentum, members said.
The town of Queen Creek passed a resolution in support of San Tan Valley incorporation, and Chandler also supports the move. Gilbert and Mesa, which are scheduled to vote in August, are the only ones now that could actually veto the effort because they have larger populations than San Tan Valley.
But “that’s not going to happen, we’ve already talked to them,” Tyler Hudgins, chairman of the STV Inc. committee, told an open house crowd of about 50 people June 13 at Pinal County offices on Schnepf Road.
