Chandler Council election: Incumbents ahead in early returns

​Incumbents O.D. Harris and Christine Ellis held small leads over their five challengers Tuesday night as Chandler City Council election results began to trickle in.

According to Maricopa County’s elections website, Harris and Ellis had the highest percentages of the vote after the first batch of results were posted Tuesday night.

With more than 150,000 votes expected to be cast and less than 35,000 counted as of 8:30 p.m., there is likely a lot of counting still to be done for the three seats in play — and all seven candidates are fairly close.
