The 106-year-old Clare House is still hanging on against a date with a wrecking ball.
The developer that owns the home at 309 N. Gilbert Road, Gilbert, has issued another extension to HD South, home of the Gilbert Historical Museum, which would like to move the home from its current location to the museum grounds at 10 S. Gilbert Road, Gilbert. where it would become a display of life in the era when Gilbert incorporated as a town.
WAGS Capital has given HD South now until Aug. 1 to come up with the $135,000 for the project. Thus far, the museum has raised $24,089 .
“The money is still coming in, so that’s great,” HD South President and CEO Denise Lopez said. “We’re still having a lot of exposure, so that has been beneficial as well.”
