The Maricopa Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed permit requests last night for development at APEX Motor Club and Southbridge Marketplace. Commissioners did not make any decisions or approvals.

Planning and Zoning Manager Rick Williams said the purpose of the meeting was to give commissioners and the public an opportunity “to view and speak on the developments themselves.”

APEX Motor Club garages

The private car club plans to construct four more buildings at its facility on State Route 238, adding 48 garage condos that double as storage and maintenance space for luxury cars. Each unit will measure about 1,250 square feet, as well as a 625-square-foot mezzanine for additional storage or hangouts.

APEX currently has four garage condos next to the raceway.

Commissioners asked for clarification on water supply and “appropriate waste handling procedures.”
