Runoff elections loom for Scottsdale mayor, council

By Scottsdale Progress

A runoff on Nov. 5 in the Scottsdale mayoral race between incumbent Mayor David Ortega and one-time City Council member Lisa Borowsky appeared likely after the latest unofficial returns today showed Ortega with 40.69% of the vote to Borowsky’s 38.48%.

If the results hold, Milhaven will be eliminated, with a repeat of the 2020 General Election runoff possibly in the wings for Nov. 5. Four years ago, Ortega defeated Borowsky.

Meanwhile, in the nine-way race for three other council seats, Jan Dubauskas (18.06%), incumbent Tammy Caputi (15.78%) and Adam Kwasman (14.93%) took an early lead, unofficial results showed early today.
