Surprise Economic Development Director Jeanine Jerkovic has helped the city rope in desired businesses such as Costco, In-N-Out Burger and soon Hobby Lobby in her time there.
But the always positive Jerkovic is especially excited about a possible rebrand of an already successful program that helps small businesses in the West Valley.
“We have always made lemonade, and that’s what entrepreneurship is about,” Jerkovic told the Surprise City Council in May.
The AZ TechCelerator business startup program that her department oversees began in 2009 as a way to help local entrepreneurs dig out from the Great Recession. And now it’s looking for a location change and a rebrand after 15 years.
