Conflict over CG industrial annexation

CASA GRANDE — A conflict arose over annexation of some industrial land on the west side as the City Council ratified election results and also contracted for development of housing in the downtown area.

Public hearings were held regarding possible annexation of land in the Bianco and Illinois road areas and for another parcel at Bianco and Clayton roads.

The Bianco and Illinois Road annexation comprises 81 acres, requested by Colliers Engineering on behalf of Vernon Barnes. According to council agenda notes, Barnes’s holding in that area is 56 acres.
