DOJ may swing wrecking ball in housing market

People who want to tour a house for sale in Scottsdale – or anywhere in Arizona, for that matter – are going to have to sign an agreement with their Realtor before walking through the door.

The Arizona Association of Realtors, the largest trade association in Arizona representing over 53,000 agents, last week released new forms that it said are “for the benefit not only of its members, but the clients they serve.”

Realtors and prospective buyers must now sign the legally binding buyer-broker representation agreement before touring a home. This requirement does not apply to an unrepresented individual attending an open house.
