Thank you, Maricopa!
I appreciate your confidence in our city council, staff and the direction and vision in “unlocking the full potential of the city of Maricopa to create a thriving and durable community.”
It will be my pleasure to serve for four more years. As shared throughout the campaign, my goals include:
- Bringing jobs to Maricopa, taking vehicles off State Route 347.
- Bringing more retail and commercial options to Maricopa, taking vehicles off SR 347.
- Bringing more services, such as medical needs, to Maricopa, taking vehicles off SR 347.
- Using significant influence to keep SR 347 in the top three projects in the Arizona Department of Transportation’s Five-Year Plan and keeping pressure on to find ways to improve the timeline for construction.
- Using influence to ensure future Sonoran Desert Parkway phases stay on track.
- Evaluation of an additional route from Maricopa to Interstate 10.
In addition, the Maricopa voters recognize the quality council and staff goals to:
- Maintain low property taxes.
- Continue the poliicy of conservative budgeting by operating with less than revenues while increasing services.
- Adding needed new facilities with no debt (library, courthouse, police and dispatch center, new park, new dog parks).
I believe the city has and will see great things to come!
I want to thank my family and friends for their awesome support.
I also want to thank the more than 40 people who helped with my campaign. We’re all in this together! I thank InMaricopa for posting the op-eds sent in by some of my supporters.
Sincerely,
Mayor Nancy Smith
