Pinal leads state in jobs growth — and Maricopa leads the county

Pinal County shows the highest jobs growth of any county in Arizona, and one city official says Maricopa is playing a role in the county’s employment gains.

U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics numbers show that between 2019 and 2023 Pinal County saw nearly 10,000 new jobs, an increase of 16%.

Statistics published by The New York Times today show some striking Pinal County jobs growth during the five-year period, including construction up 79% and manufacturing up 78%.

The county’s growth in leisure and hospitality was also significant — 41% over the 2019 to 2023 timeframe.
