A preliminary development plan was approved for single-family housing to be constructed in a new Shea subdivision east of the northeast corner of Cooper Road and Riggs Road in Chandler.
The Chandler Planning and Zoning Commission voted 5-0 Aug. 21 on a consent agenda with other items to approve the plan for Magnolia subject to the conditions as recommended by planning staff. Vice Chair Sherri Koshiol and Commissioner Kyle Barichello were absent.
A rezoning for single-family residences and preliminary development plan for subdivision layout was approved in March 2022. Shea Homes submitted a fully one-story housing product for the Magnolia subdivision, Associate Planner Darsy Omer said in a memo to the commission.
The preliminary development plan includes four floor plans with three different architectural styles; modern, transitional, and valley. There are a total of 12 elevations that could be constructed, Omer said.
