By Mark Cowling | Pinal Central

FLORENCE — After serving as both interim manager and police chief for the past five months, Bruce Walls is the new town manager following the Town Council’s unanimous vote Monday.

“Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to continue to serve this town,” Walls told the council. “We have a great team here and I look forward to working with each and every one of them for the betterment of the town.

“I appreciate you all taking your time with me,” Walls continued. “I’ve had personal conversations with each and every one of you. And I want the citizens of Florence to know that you all are very passionate about what you want to see the town do and grow. And I’m just so excited to have been a part of that.
