COOLIDGE — A proposed 20-acre apartment complex featuring 354 units of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments is one step closer to becoming reality after the Coolidge Planning and Zoning Commission approved Planned Area Development zoning on Sept. 11.

Located one-third mile south of the southeast corner of Hanna Road and State Route 87, not far from the Inland Port Arizona industrial park, which includes the Nikola manufacturing plant and the future Procter & Gamble plant site.

This PAD is a multiphase project aimed toward housing workers for IPAZ employers. A total of 16 buildings are planned over six phases, which also include plans for flood retention areas to double as fields for soccer or football, multiple amenities such as a pool or pickleball courts and by the final phase, a 3-acre commercial site for anything from a coffee shop to a gas station. The project is estimated to take somewhere between six and eight years to complete.
