ELOY — With the general election just six weeks away, Pinal County staff made the trip to Eloy to give a presentation on the benefits of the half-cent sales tax that will appear on the county ballot for renewal.
Proposition 486 aims to continue the countywide transportation road maintenance and improvement fund excise tax.
The road tax has appeared on general election ballots twice before. First in 1986, when it passed with just 51.1% approval. With the second appearance, in 2005, it passed with a much larger approval of 73.7%.
