Major construction projects make progress at CAC

MARICOPA — Central Arizona College construction projects across campuses are continuing to move along throughout this year and expected into next year.

On Sept. 17, the Governing Board met at the Maricopa Campus. Jackie Elliott, CAC president and CEO, presented updated information on the Pence Center, which needs rebuilding after a roof collapse a year ago.

Initially, the project involved just the auditorium/seating area, but since the main beam isn’t to current code, everything from the stage onward will need to be abated and removed.
