Pacana Park, Maricopa’s second-largest public outdoor recreation area, is adding a number of new features.
One of them is a long railing along its south parking lot side, which under construction right now. The city says the metal fence is part of its beautification efforts but one local fisherman has already found a good use for it.
“Pacana Park has been getting some refurbishments this year, as it marks 20 years this fall since it first opened to residents,” City of Maricopa spokesperson Monica Williams said of the 28-acre grounds.
“Those refurbishments include adding additional areas around the lake for individuals to fish, painting several structures, refinishing the tennis courts, redoing some of the paver paths and installing decorative railing along the south side of the lake, which is not yet complete,” Williams said.
