CASA GRANDE — With only several weeks left of an eight-year tenure as Casa Grande mayor, Craig McFarland will remain active in the Pinal County community after being named as the new president and CEO of Pinal Partnership.

Come January McFarland replaces Tony Smith, who is retiring after several years of service. McFarland said the public-private organization has become a significant influencer under Smith in the areas of public policy and discussion on all things Pinal County, and he is looking forward to the new job.

“It should be an easy move for me,” said McFarland. “I think I can be of benefit to the Pinal Partnership, because I can bring my contacts and experience and continue to do some of the work that I was doing here in Casa Grande, which also means that I’ll be able to continue to help Casa Grande, which I’m very passionate about.”
