For nearly 40 years, Pinal County’s half-cent Road Maintenance and Improvement Fund has been used to fund critical projects including road repair, road widening, traffic safety improvements, pothole repair, road preservation, new road construction, intersection improvements and other transportation projects throughout the region. Voters will have the opportunity to ensure that we continue to drive on safe roads and make an investment in our future by approving the continuation of this fund through Proposition 486.

“I strongly support Proposition 486, a crucial initiative aimed at addressing the pressing transportation needs in our community. This proposition is a significant step forward in ensuring safe, efficient and reliable transportation infrastructure for all residents in Pinal County,” said Supervisor Mike Goodman, current chairman of the Board of Supervisors.

“One of the critical ways we fund essential transportation projects is through the half-cent road maintenance and improvement fund that was originally passed in 1986 and renewed in 2005,” explained Pinal County Supervisor Steve Miller. “Without reauthorization, it will expire in 2026. Proposition 486 continues this important program for another 20 years to ensure we have funding for key transportation projects.”
