From the office of Supervisor Mike Goodman
As we welcome the month of October, there’s a special sense of comradery in the air. With cooler temperatures just around the corner, we’re seeing an uptick in community events that bring us all together. This time of year is a reminder of the strength, unity, and warmth of our neighborhoods as we gather to celebrate what makes our community great. From local events to volunteer opportunities, there’s something for everyone. I encourage you to get involved, support one another, and enjoy the many activities that this season has to offer.
Thank you for being an important part of this vibrant community. I look forward to seeing you at upcoming events!
Warm regards,
Supervisor Mike Goodman
WHAT YOU MAY HAVE MISSED
Thank you for all who were able to attend our recent Town Halls where we shared the survey results. If you are interested in seeing the summary that was shared please let us know.
A few weeks ago, we told you about the Keffer twins, fifteen-year-olds Kayde and Liam, from San Tan Valley, who were headed to the World Skate Games in Rome to compete in the Junior Scootering Park World Championships.
Both boys competed valiantly in the semi-finals, with Liam going on to make the overall final, finishing 8th in the World! Congratulations to the boys, and we look forward to reporting on their future endeavors!
Pinal County Development Services has partnered with the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office and the Pinal County Attorney’s Office to curtail illegal dumping in urbanized areas and deserts. These efforts include installing surveillance cameras at known dump sites, issuing citations, and even having deputies confront individuals suspected of littering and illegal dumping.
If you happen to see or know of someone who is illegally dumping, you can earn a $500 reward for submitting a tip that leads to charges.
To learn more about illegal dumping, report a dump site, or get information about the rewards program, go to www.pinal.gov/KeepPinalPristine.

LEARN ABOUT PROP 486 THAT WILL BE ON THE BALLOT THIS NOVEMBER
Our office often receives questions about road maintenance and how it is paid for. We invite you to watch the following video and to read the attached FAQ & Examples of Completed Projects using the maintenance fund. If you have any questions on the following please reach out anytime. We are more than happy to provide educational information to our community members.
Road maintenance is primarily funded through a combination of the Highway User Revenue Fund (HURF) and the Road Maintenance and Improvement Fund, which will be reauthorized by Prop 486. The excise tax revenue is collected by the state which sends it to the County Treasurer who then distributes it to the appropriate jurisdictions according to a population-based formula.
