ELOY — Offering more housing options has been a top priority for the Eloy City Council. With one of the larger subdivisions still under development, the council voted to extend the preliminary plat for the planned Vista de Picacho community.
Vista de Picacho is to be located at Houser and Eleven Mile Corner roads and consist of 365 lots within a gross area of nearly 107 acres.
After originally approving the preliminary plat for a period of 18 months, the council voted unanimously to extend the approval, giving the developer more time to conduct the necessary steps for the project’s completion.
Vista de Picacho LLC representative Christina Dong attended the meeting, providing the council with an update on what’s next for the subdivision.
“We’re very optimistic about this project,” Dong told the council. “We’re actively working with a broker who is in contact with all of the national builders. We’ve generated some interest, but the market took a turn in May. However, we’re still working with local and national developers.”
