New Discovery Center open at Lowell Observatory

After three years of construction, Lowell Observatory is opening its new Marley Foundation Astronomy Discovery Center.

Replacing the Steele Visitor Center as its main entry building, the Discovery Center puts a new focus on interactivity and public engagement for the observatory. Lowell Observatory broke ground on construction of the Astronomy Discovery Center in June 2021.

The $53 million building has two floors of interactive exhibits and conference rooms, along with a rooftop patio and night sky observatory.
