At its Oct. 22 meeting, Scottsdale City Council unanimously approved a California-based developer’s plans for the 20-acre Legacy North project at 7550 E. Legacy Blvd.

That means Grayhawk residents will look over their walls at perhaps 1,000 new neighbors in nearly 450 new units.

According to the developer, Legacy will have 108 town-home units in two and three-story buildings and 335 apartment units in three-story buildings.

“The initial unit mix will consist of 41% one-bedroom units, 34% two-bedroom units, and 24% 3-bedroom units,” according to a letter sent to neighbors.

Unlike other heated City Council meetings, at this one there was no debate over traffic, noise or the size or intended use of Legacy, which will “flip” undeveloped desert land.
