FLORENCE — The town hopes to begin the new year on a high note with a “re-grand opening” of Heritage Park to celebrate the new playground equipment and new scoreboards in mid-January. There will be hot dogs and hamburgers.
Another parks issue will be more complicated.
The town floated the idea of a “multigenerational center” to serve a variety of recreational needs and gathered a lot of feedback from residents and consultants in 2024.
The council did a good job of listening to its constituents, “and trying to come up with something that it believed was going to be beneficial for the entire town of Florence,” Town Manager Bruce Walls said in a year-end interview.
