After community debate regarding its future five years ago, the land that once held Glen Lakes Golf Course has reopened as a 10.7-acre park, wrapping around the continually growing neighborhood.
The city of Glendale celebrated the unveiling of Glen Lakes Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Dec. 4. Located near 53rd Avenue and Northern Avenue, the park includes a walking path, a toddler’s park and an ample amount of empty space for children and families to gather.
Through the agreement, the city has acquired the rights to use 800 designated parking spaces on the ground floor of the five-level parking garage that’s being constructed to support the VAI Resort, which is scheduled to open late next year.
