MARICOPA — A new facility is currently in the works that will bring a whole new aspect to Maricopa’s recreation and sports offerings, and concepts have already been drafted.
Maricopa is facing some growing pains, as it is difficult for the city to keep pace with the demands of a rapidly growing and expanding population. One of those demands is the desire for increased spaces devoted to public play and competitive sports teams.
“Our city is well-regarded throughout the Valley for its well-maintained neighborhoods, impressive safety record and outstanding recreational amenities that make it an attractive destination for families,” said Quinn Konold, community enrichment director for the city of Maricopa. “Sports, in particular, have become a central focus for many residents, with a rising interest in both competitive leagues and open play spaces for public use.”
