Buckeye OKs land use change for MF

Originally a commercial center, the property is now zoned as multi-family 2, paving the way for the developer Highstreet Ventures Inc. to build a 510-unit multifamily residential apartment community.

The property is within the Buckeye Gateway Activity Center, more commonly known as The Landing, an area the city is developing into an employment, educational and entertainment center. Though the property’s entire design and development is still in the planning stages, The Landing is expected to offer diverse living opportunities, from single-family homes to apartments.

The Buckeye City Council approved the rezoning of 17.89 acres at the northeast corner of Verrado Way and Fillmore Street for the development of a multi-family residential community during its most recent city council meeting.
