FLORENCE — A year after the town began working with a consultant on a possible “multigenerational” center for indoor recreation, the Town Council agreed Monday to shelve it in favor of less expensive alternatives.
“Rather than rushing into building a new facility, we should explore phased approaches on repurposing existing spaces,” Councilmember Nicole Buccellato said.
“I love the project … but I understand we cannot put out that type of money,” Councilmember Sherrie Bedford said.
