Florence council hears light industrial proposal

Via Town of Florence

FLORENCE — An ordinance to rezone 110 acres from Rural Agricultural to Light Industrial east of State Route 79 is pending before the Town Council.

The land, historically used for agriculture, is between Diversion Dam Road and East Butte Avenue. No specific end user has been identified for the land, which is owned by Langley Lewis Holdings. If the council approves the rezoning, Langley will market the site to potential users, Jennifer Ruby with Langley told the council.

Councilmember Nicole Buccellato asked if a solar farm would be possible. Ruby replied that solar would not be permitted without an additional approval process. The public will learn of other potential users as the owner obtains site plan approval and design review from the town, Ruby said.
