Some Phoenix homebuilders expect growth in building homes in 2025 amid the Valley’s current housing shortage and higher interest rates.
In 2024, there were 24,860 new residential construction permits total issued in the Phoenix market — about 18% higher than 20,948 in 2023, according to Jim Daniel, a housing analyst at RL Brown.
By comparison, there were 22,222 total permits in the Phoenix market in 2022.
“(It’s been) a consistent couple years (of building),” Daniel said. “I think that is going to continue.”
