Trump to meet with GOP leadership after action-packed Inauguration Day

President Donald Trump is expected to meet Tuesday with top Republican lawmakers, including House Speaker Mike Johnson (Louisiana) and Senate Majority Leader John Thune (South Dakota), to discuss his legislative agenda after an action-packed Inauguration Day. Trump also plans a “big infrastructure announcement,” according to his press secretary. On Monday, Trump took scores of executive actions and granted a blanket pardon to almost all Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot defendants. Meanwhile, the Senate is advancing several of Trump’s Cabinet picks toward confirmation.
