Scottsdale council poised to name next city manager

Scottsdale Interim City Manager Greg Caton appears to have been handed the job of city manager, despite no search for any other candidates.

City Councilmember Maryann McAllen moved during the council’s March 18 meeting to pay $58,780 to the firm of Ralph Andersen & Associates to conduct a national search for candidates for the open city manager’s position.

However, that motion went nowhere as city council member Kathy Littlefield made a second motion to skip the search and schedule an executive session at a future meeting to appoint Caton the new permanent city manager.
