The Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission will meet this week to discuss a proposal and set of requests to build a 120KSF self-storage facility on 4.5 acres of General Business-zoned land near the SWC of Florence Blvd. and Arizona Road.

Developer PSC Storage has requested a conditional use permit, major site plan and preliminary plat approvals. Self-storage is an allowed use under the current zoning with a CUP and major site plan, according to the staff report. The preliminary plat would combine the property lot into a single parcel.

Surrounding uses at the undeveloped vacant site include commercial properties to the east and north, more undeveloped land to the west and single-family residential to the south.

According to the staff’s project discussion notes, “The applicant is seeking to develop a 120KSF, 35 foot-tall indoor, climate-controlled storage facility on a 4.5-acre site, currently comprised of two parcels. The site is south of 1601, 1609, 1635, and 1639 E Florence Blvd… and north of the Parkview single-family residential subdivision. This site provides for two access drives to properties to the north between it and Florence via an established access easement.”
