Arizona Water Company will be celebrating its 70-year anniversary with open houses and giveaways throughout April.
The company provides water to more than 300,000 customers in 30 communities across Arizona, some of which lie in Pinal County. The company started in 1955 by operating 10 water systems across the state; it now operates 24. According to a press release, customers are invited to stop by any of AWC’s 12 local offices for a gift to celebrate the anniversary.
“Arizona Water Company has grown thoughtfully and strategically to become the second largest water company in the state,” AWC President Fred Schneider said in a press release. “We plan to continue growing, and providing exceptional, award-winning water services to even more residents in the years to come.”
In its time, AWC has grown from 50 employees in 1955 to 282 today. AWC’s longest serving employee has worked for the company for 45 years, according to the press release. Needless to say, much has changed since the days of the company’s founding fathers: Frank O’Neill, John Donnelly and Kenneth Knoblock.
