Maricopa’s only hospital has obtained accreditation from the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality after an unannounced onsite assessment earlier this month.
CIHQ is a membership-based organization headquartered in Mexia, Texas, that advocates for, educates, advises, assists and improves its member hospitals, according to its mission statement.
The CIHQ team toured Exceptional Community Hospital of Maricopa, reviewed medical records, observed care practices, and interviewed staff and patients. All that while helping educate staff and providers, according to Bruce McVeigh, the hospital’s chief operating officer.
“CIHQ is proud to recognize Exceptional Community Hospital [of] Maricopa for achieving accreditation,” McVeigh said. “Achieving accreditation from CIHQ demonstrates our accountability and commitment to delivering safe and quality care to all patients. Surveyors with CIHQ used every opportunity to educate and inform staff and providers on best practices to improve the patient care environment.”
