Mesa explores conventional homes in new places

Mesa is pondering amending its zoning ordinance to allow property owners in manufactured home or RV subdivisions to build conventional single-story homes on their lots because more residents in these communities want them.

The proposal also would allow the property owner to build an addition, including habitable space, to their unit and construct an accessory dwelling unit on the lot. 

The text amendment doesn’t require property owners to replace their units with conventionally built units and doesn’t apply to manufactured home and RV parks, where the resident owns the unit but rents the land.
