New Pinal building would be ‘huge change in downtown’

The tallest modern buildings in downtown Florence belong to Pinal County, but they haven’t done that much to prepare locals for a five-story behemoth fronting Butte Avenue.

“So this will be a shocker. But it’s necessary, it’s needed,” Deputy County Manager Himanshu Patel said.

The Board of Supervisors has not yet approved the new office building and may not for months. The board first heard of it officially last month along with other new buildings that county staff say are needed to replace old inefficient facilities and better serve a growing population.
