Construction is expected to start soon on a new apartment complex that will tower nearly 40 feet higher than other complexes near the University of Arizona campus.

The 19-story building with 395 units and 1,064 bedrooms will be located on the northwest corner of East Speedway and North Campbell Avenue, records filed with the city of Tucson show.

The current Palm Shadows apartment complex at that corner is scheduled for demolition, according to a notice sent to area residents late last month.

The city approved a demolition permit for the project on April 24.
