The Town of Fountain Hills has been awarded significant recognition for financial reporting, an accomplishment which underscores the Town’s dedication to financial excellence and public accountability.
The Town of Fountain Hills has received the top honor from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA): the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.
Town Manager Rachael Goodwin said, “Being recognized at this level reinforces our commitment to responsible stewardship of public funds. It’s important the community trusts how their government is managing their money, and this award is a reflection of that trust in action.”
This award is the highest form of recognition in government accounting and financial reporting. It reflects the Town’s strong commitment to transparency, accuracy, and clearly communicating how public funds are managed.
“This recognition speaks volumes about the hard work and dedication of our finance team,” said Chief Financial Officer Paul Soldinger. “We take pride in making our financial information open and understandable for our residents. Earning this award shows that our commitment to our residents is reflected in the work completed.”
An independent panel judged the report against GFOA’s rigorous standards, which include an ability to clearly communicate the Town’s financial story in helping motivate individuals to read the report.
