Buckeye is moving ahead with a bridge project to help alleviate congestion and promote future growth and development near the site where KORE Power once planned to build a battery plant.
Buckeye City Council on June 17 approved an intergovernmental agreement in connection with a capital improvement plan project to build a $3,669,390 bridge over the canal on the southeast corner of the former KORE Power site at the southeast corner of State Route 85 and Baseline Road.
The bridge project aims to alleviate congestion on Miller Road, which currently faces elevated crash density in the area, according to a traffic study document filed with the city. Traffic volumes along Rooks Road are also expected to grow to between 10,000 and 30,000 trips daily by the year 2040.
