The Buckeye City Council approved the city’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan, a roadmap for enhancing existing parks and recreational spaces, creating new parks and recreation next to schools and connecting pathways and trails.
Over a 10-year period, the Community Services Department and the city of Buckeye have several projects planned. The city wants to connect trails between Skyline Regional Park and White Tank Mountain Regional Park, and post educational signage about the history of Buckeye.
In total, the plan comprises 127 items, detailing possible ways to improve and develop Buckeye’s parks, amenities and public programs. The master plan serves as an update to the original plan adopted by the council in 2016 that contained 107 items for development, 80% of which have been completed, said Community Services Deputy Director Robert Wisener, who led the presentation.
