Glendale’s City Hall no longer looks like the skeleton of a building and the May 27 monthly update to the City Council reflected the project
Exterior masonry is essentially done, Glendale City Architect Eddie Garcia said during the council workshop. Glass is installed on the east side of the building and along the sections of the south curtain wall, except for a section artists will design, fabricate, and install — with the artwork facing Glendale Avenue.
Glazing was the buzzword of the presentation, and Garcia said the glazing work on the building’s windows is well underway. The process knocks down interior temperatures and energy use.
“I think we’ve turned a major milestone, right now, in the project,” Garcia said. “In the last presentation, we were just beginning to start glazing. I’m happy to report that we’re on track with our glazing timeline.”
