Maricopans share vision for general plan update

It’s not every day Maricopans get a say in planning the city’s vision for the future.  

But that’s what brought Senita resident Christian Glover to the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center last night. He didn’t have a chance to participate in the 2015 round of updates to the city’s general plan, so he was among two dozen locals who showed up for a community workshop. 

“I wanted to know what’s the city’s future for the small business owners and the community,” Glover told InMaricopa. “We keep getting bigger and [get] more big box stores, but it seems like there’s not enough commercial space for small businesses … As a small business owner, you want to have the ability to stay local and shop local.”
