Massive ice plex takes shape in Tucson

By Real Estate Daily News

A major milestone is visibly underway as the structure of the new 175,000-square-foot indoor ice plex begins rising along Interstate 10 and Kino Parkway, marking a major step forward for the Mosaic Quarter development.

This transformative project on Tucson’s south side, hailed as Pima County’s first billion-dollar public-private investment, will feature world-class sports, recreation, and entertainment venues designed to reflect the community’s needs.

“Get excited because it’s just the beginning,” said Lindsay Knott, Executive Vice President for Mosaic Quarter.

The ice plex is part of Phase I, which also includes a 131,000-square-foot field house soon to rise just across the Julian Wash. When completed, the field house will host a variety of sports, including wrestling, archery, pickleball, badminton, cheer, and dance.
